What does the outline maker do?
It traces a clean cut outline around the subject in your image. You get three results: the outline on its own, your image with the cut outline around it, and an outline with a keychain ring added at the top. Each downloads as SVG, DXF, and PNG.
What image works best?
A black-and-white engrave or pencil-style image on a light background works best, because the tool finds the subject by its dark shape. Busy photos with cluttered backgrounds give rougher outlines.
Do I need an account?
No. The tool is free and works without signing up. Your upload is processed once and removed after the job finishes.
What can I open the files with?
The SVG and DXF import into LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, Glowforge, Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Inkscape, Illustrator, and any laser or CNC software. The DXF is scaled to millimetres so it imports at the right physical size.
What is the keychain ring option?
It adds a small ring eyelet at the top of the outline so you can cut a keychain or ornament that hangs from a loop. The ring is sized automatically from your image.
