How to use the laser cut privacy screen generator

Choose from 20 parametric outlines: rectangular panels, round and pointed arch gates, mihrab niches, circles, hexagons, fence panels. Set the real width and height in millimeters or inches.

Fill it with a pattern
Hover any of the 90 patterns to preview it on your actual panel before you commit. Each swatch shows how open it is as a percentage, so you can tell a see-through screen from a mostly solid plate at a glance.

The strut is the material left between holes; set it to match your sheet so nothing burns through. Add an arch opening if the panel is a gate transom, and drop in medallions for a centrepiece.

What makes a privacy screen actually cuttable
A decorative screen is solid material with holes punched out of it, and the part that matters is what is LEFT. If two holes come too close, the strip between them snaps on the bed or in shipping. If a pattern closes a ring around a piece of material, that piece falls out and leaves a gap. This designer treats every pattern as closed hole shapes and guarantees a minimum strut everywhere, then proves the remaining material is a single connected piece before you export.
Mashrabiya, jali, and modern lattices
The pattern library covers the traditional families properly: khatam eight and twelve point stars, honeycomb and turned mashrabiya screens, girih strapwork, Andalusi petal lattices, and fourteen public-domain plates vectorized from Bourgoin (1879) and Owen Jones (1856). Modern geometrics, branch and vine motifs, and graduated dot fields are there too if you want something contemporary for a room divider or a garden screen.
Sizing for the sheet you actually have
Turn on a stock sheet (4x8 ft, 5x10 ft, or a custom size) and the designer nests copies of your panel on it, shows how many fit, and reports the waste percentage. That is the difference between quoting a job accurately and finding out at the machine that your panel is 30 mm too wide for the material.
Fabrication checks before you burn material
Pick your material and thickness and the designer flags the two things that ruin a screen: struts thinner than the material can hold, and openings narrower than the beam can cut cleanly. It also gives you cut length, pierce count, estimated weight, and a rough run time, so you can price the job before you start it.
From screen to gate
Panels with arch openings let you build a full gate: a lattice leaf, plus a transom piece with the arch shape punched out where the gate passes through. Round, pointed, shallow, half circle, and straight doorway openings are all available, and the solid band around the opening is kept automatically so the panel still cuts as one piece.

Is the privacy screen designer free?
Yes, completely. It runs entirely in your browser with no account, no credits, and no watermark, and you can export as many SVG and DXF files as you want.
Will the screen fall apart when it is cut?
No. The designer insets every hole and clips it to the panel so a minimum width of material is guaranteed everywhere, and an automated test builds a real panel for every pattern and checks that the material is exactly one connected piece. Nothing floats and nothing drops out.
What size can I make a panel?
Anything from a small window insert up to a 3000 mm gate. You set width and height as real numbers in millimeters or inches, and the export comes out at that exact size.
Does the DXF open correctly in LightBurn and Fusion?
Yes. The DXF is written with the units flag set to millimeters, so it imports at true size instead of arriving 25.4 times too small or too large. There is also a direct LightBurn .lbrn2 export with the sheet layout nested.
Can I cut these on a CNC router instead of a laser?
Yes. The DXF is a plain 2D profile file, which is what CNC profile cutting and plasma tables expect. Remember to allow for the tool diameter in your CAM software, the same as any 2D profile job.
What materials work for a privacy screen?
Steel and aluminium for outdoor screens and gates, MDF and plywood for indoor dividers and decorative panels. Pick the material in the designer and it warns you if any strut or opening is too small for that thickness.
Can I add Arabic or Islamic geometric patterns?
Yes, that is the core of the library. Khatam stars, girih strapwork, mashrabiya screens, Andalusi and Mamluk motifs, and heritage plates traced from the classic pattern books are all included, and the whole interface is available in Arabic.
