PNG to DXF Converter — Free & Laser-Ready

Turn any PNG into a clean, cut-ready DXF file. Great for laser cutting, CNC routing, plasma cutting, and vinyl.

Ready in seconds

Typical conversion finishes in under 30 seconds, no install, no CAD knowledge required.

🔗

Auto-bridged paths

Floating islands are detected and bridged so your stencil cuts as one clean piece.

📐

Laser-ready geometry

Output is sized at 150mm wide and scales cleanly in Lightburn, RDWorks, AutoCAD, and Inkscape.

🎁

Free up to 5/day

No watermark, no email grabs, no paywall. Up to five free conversions per account per day.

PNG to DXF in three steps

Upload your PNG. The AI traces the outlines and produces a closed-path DXF. Download and drop into your laser software. The whole process takes about 20 seconds.

What makes a good PNG for DXF conversion?

Black-and-white or high-contrast PNG images work best. Transparency is supported — transparent pixels become cut-through holes. Noisy photographic PNGs with soft gradients produce messy DXFs — use AI Builder instead for those.

Why PNG to DXF specifically?

PNG is lossless — no compression artifacts to trip up the tracer. That makes PNG the single best raster source format for DXF conversion. If you have a choice between PNG and JPG, pick PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the PNG to DXF converter free?

Yes. Five free conversions per day. No card, no watermark.

Will the DXF open in my laser software?

Yes — the DXF follows R12 polyline format which opens in Lightburn, RDWorks, LaserGRBL, AutoCAD, and Fusion 360.

What about 3D PNG data / height maps?

This converter is 2D only. For depth maps use a dedicated relief modeling tool.

Can I batch-convert PNGs?

Not in the UI yet. The public API supports batching if you want to script it.

Is the DXF R12 or R2010?

We export AC1009 (DXF R12) which is the broadest-compatibility flavor.
